Internet Options + Mandatory Fees [19 Aug 2009|06:28pm]

snowbite
[ mood | sad ]

Hello, CWU-goers..!

I'm moving to Ellensburg tomorrow or so I can attend Fall quarter, and have found Google to be fairly useless in researching the available high-speed internet options. :(

I've heard that Charter charges like $50 a month for high-speed. Are there any good alternatives?

Also! It says on the 'mandatory fees' page that we have to pay $95 per quarter as our recreation center fee. Is this completely mandatory regardless of whether or not we use it? Do we have to pay another $95 if we want to use it, and the first $95 was just some random fee to help pay for it? The website was slightly vague. . . I guess I could always email CWU, but I've asked them so many questions already I feel like a total jerk. xD

Thanks for any help.

I really need to get to Tri-cities this Friday but bus schedules don't seem to be matching up with my schedule.

Thanks!

So I've heard that they have a night on campus where they play the wizard of oz and pink floyd's 'dark side of the moon' simultaneously and I am curious as to when this will happen this year. If anyone has any information on it, it will be greatly appreciated!

Relocation [05 Dec 2007|12:21pm]

Hey Everyone,

This isn't directly CWU related, so I hope it's ok. I'm looking to relocate to ellensburg, but I need to find employment up there. I've got a MS in Computer Science, and I have Software Dev. Experience, Research Experience, and IT experience. Does anyone have any tips of any companies around that might need a full fledged computer geek?

Any leads much appreciated.

Happy Holidays!

I have two super-sweet, friendly, well-behaved cats (female aged 3, male aged 5) who need a place to stay while I'm studying in Korea (January to June). I will provide food, litter, and compensation to anyone able to provide a good home to one or both of my babies while I'm gone. If you or someone you know would be able to love and take care of a kitty while I'm gone, please let me know. Thank you much!

Hey there. So my boyfriend is in a pretty cool band called Short Term Memory with some local guys. They do all kinds of classic rock covers - everything from Pink Floyd to Otis Redding to The Beatles to Simon and Garfunkel. And the band is comprised of people who've all actually studied music, so the covers aren't shitty, they're actually great and very danceable.

The show is tonight at Organize(d?) Noise, that awesome hippie bookstore on Main Street, across from the Import Store.

THE SHOW IS FREE. IT STARTS AT NINE PM. IT WILL BE AN AWESOME TIME.

The opening act is Central music professor Bret Smith and a good friend of his, jamming out on the tuba and banjo. Then Short Term memory will take over around 9:30. Their first set will be accoustic, and then it will grow and grow until the walls are shaking with rock.

I'd love to see you there :)

Love,
Rachel

Support our troops rally this Saturday [14 Nov 2006|01:19pm]

bri0303
There will be a rally for the troops this coming Saturday (Nov. 18) from 1-3pm at the park on the corner near Super 1 Foods. We will also be accepting donations of goods and money to help send care packages for the soldiers in Iraq. We are sending 22 boxes out today and appreciate the help we have been getting. Hope to see you there!

Even if you do or don't support the war or the mission, come out and support the troops. It means a lot to them and their families.

To all dorm dwelling students: Does your TV switch from NBC Nightly News w/ Brian Williams to the Travel Channel at 6: every night? Its the one news broadcast I like watching and every night right as it starts the TV switches to Travel Channel for the entire 30 minute newscast. Anyone know anything about this?

Out of Stater Looking for Some Cool Peeps [19 Aug 2006|06:37pm]
notliketherest1
Hi my name is Chris and I'm gonna be a freshman over at Beck for the fall. I'm from Arizona and from what I hear, there aren't a lot of out of staters, but I thought that this school fit me perfectly for what I wanted and so that's why I'm coming. I'm going to be enrolled in some flight tech courses and am also interested in psych and will be taking psych 101 in the fall. Sports, writing, music, and flying are my passions and I enjoy LJ because I feel it's real and you can speak your mind, not a big myspace guy. I just wanted to meet some cool down to earth peeps and I thought this LJ group would be a cool place to do it, look forward to meeting all you guys on LJ peace, Chris
